Kennedy Half Dollar 40% Silver Hollow Spy Coin
As silver increased in value compared to the US Dollar, the US Mint, acting under the Coinage Act of 1965, discontinued minting circulating coins in 90% silver after 1964. This directive also drove the mint to produce Kennedy Halves in 40% silver from 1965 to 1969.
These 40% silver hollow halves are made from actual coins, generally in XF to AU condition. Like all of our hollow coins, they are indistinguishable from a solid coin to the naked eye. These particular spy coins will also totally conceal a Micro-SD memory card.
